These are the items you will need:
10 pop-tops
8 inches of tape
gel pen (normally I use white, but this tape is pale)
clear ruler
knife
Use a gel pen and a clear ruler to mark out every quarter inch on the tape. Do this again on the other end of the tape so that you can cut a straight line. Gel pen can be rubbed off of the tape with a wet paper towel.
It will look like this.
Using the ruler and knife, cut off a quarter inch strip.
Then cut the quarter inch strip into two inch pieces.
Fold the two inch strips so that a small area of the sticky side of the tape remains.
Lace the tape through the holes in the pop-tops, using the sticky tab to keep them together.
Continue taping the pop-tops together, cutting off quarter inch strips only as you run out of the previous. When you have finished, there should be some tape still left over.
Using the larger of the two pieces, fold the tape long ways. Leave a strip of the sticky side.
Fold the sticky tab down to make a ribbon.
It will look like this.
Fold the ribbon in half and trim the ends into points.
Thread the ribbon through the last pop-top, folding it at the middle.
Cross the ribbon over itself.
Use the last four inch strip to wrap around the ribbon where it crossed over itself.
The bracelet is finished, but a special knot is used to tie the ends together.
Pull the ends of the ribbon through their respective pop-top holes.
Take the left ribbon and fold towards the right ribbon, slipping it beneath.
Pull the left ribbon tight.
Fold the right ribbon and slide it between the two parts of the left ribbon. The end will point right.
Pull the end of the right ribbon towards the left. This will flatten the knot.
The finished knot will look like this.
Yes, it is possible to tie on your wrist by yourself.
These pictures were taken by me, and are mine. Use them if you want, I really can't stop you, but credit would be nice.
