Pop-Top Duct Tape Bracelets
I looked for this on Pintrest. I really did. I could not find them. So here you go.
These are the items you will need:
10 pop-tops
8 inches of tape
gel pen (normally I use white, but this tape is pale)
clear ruler
knife
Use a gel pen and a clear ruler to mark out every quarter inch on the tape. Do this again on the other end of the tape so that you can cut a straight line. Gel pen can be rubbed off of the tape with a wet paper towel.
It will look like this.
Using the ruler and knife, cut off a quarter inch strip.
Then cut the quarter inch strip into two inch pieces.
Fold the two inch strips so that a small area of the sticky side of the tape remains.
Lace the tape through the holes in the pop-tops, using the sticky tab to keep them together.
Continue taping the pop-tops together, cutting off quarter inch strips only as you run out of the previous. When you have finished, there should be some tape still left over.
Using the larger of the two pieces, fold the tape long ways. Leave a strip of the sticky side.
Fold the sticky tab down to make a ribbon.
It will look like this.
Fold the ribbon in half and trim the ends into points.
Thread the ribbon through the last pop-top, folding it at the middle.
Cross the ribbon over itself.
Use the last four inch strip to wrap around the ribbon where it crossed over itself.
The bracelet is finished, but a special knot is used to tie the ends together.
Pull the ends of the ribbon through their respective pop-top holes.
Take the left ribbon and fold towards the right ribbon, slipping it beneath.
Pull the left ribbon tight.
Fold the right ribbon and slide it between the two parts of the left ribbon. The end will point right.
Pull the end of the right ribbon towards the left. This will flatten the knot.
The finished knot will look like this.
Yes, it is possible to tie on your wrist by yourself.
These pictures were taken by me, and are mine. Use them if you want, I really can't stop you, but credit would be nice.
Friendship Bracelets hooray
This pattern has been created independently of any other similar patterns and I apologize to anyone who has previously come up with this same or a similar pattern.
Okay, so it's been a while. A long while. And I'm sorry. But! I have a thing!
Oh, right. Difficulty. It's not that hard once you get the order right, but...wouldn't try to make a six year old do it, so.... medium?
Also, you need to know how many inches your wrist is.

Pick four colors of string.
Cut the string 6 times the length of the final length (the size of your wrist). If you feel uncomfortable with that small of a margin, you can add some more.
Once you have all you strings cut, fold them in half.
Oh. OH. What is this!? Actually, it's just a knot, but the way I'm holding it looks wacky. So I wrote on it!
So if that last one confused you, it's just one of these.
Separate your colors. There will be two of each, because the strings are folded in half.
From left to right, the strings are ordered 3, 1, 2, 4.
Take string 1, the second from the left, and pull it to the left from beneath string 3.
On the left side, tie a regular friendship bracelet knot.
It will look like this.
Now pull string 2 to the right, beneath string 4.
On the right side, tie another knot.
It will look like this. You will see part of string 4 above the knot. This is part of the pattern, don't freak out and try to re-do it a bunch of times.
Now pull out string 3 to the left from beneath string 1.
Guess what! You're tying another knot.
Pull out string 4 from beneath string 2.
Tie a knot.
The strings will be in the original order.
Repeat the knots, tying them from the side that they were pulled from.
Oh look, I'm almost done.
When you've reached the final length, lay the remaining thread over the knots.
Tie a normal knot. Pull the knot up as you tighten it so that when it is finished, it rests just beneath the previous knot.
It will look like this.
Use the end knots to fold the bracelet in half. Cut the loop in half and trim the remaining string so that they are even.
Ta-da!
Tie the ends in a double knot on your wrist.
Hooray, it's done!
This isn't a step, but this is all the string I had left over at the end. The six times the final length thing wasn't nuts.
